Meet the Team

Petra Hueck


Petra Hueck is the director of ICMC Europe in Brussels, Belgium. Since taking up this role in 2005, Petra has been responsible for co-developing the European Resettlement- and SHARE networks, steering European advocacy, research and program activities in migration and asylum. In this capacity, Petra frequently presents at European and global policy-making conferences and platforms. 

Prior to joining ICMC, Petra has worked for several years as a Program Manager for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Petra holds a degree in International Law from the University of Utrecht, as well as a degree in Social and Cultural Sociology from the University of Leuven.

Mary Emily Farnsworth

Grants Manager

Mary Emily joined ICMC Europe in 2020 and supports the organisation through the financial management of all project grants and reporting.

She previously worked as an accountant and then in the refugee resettlement sector in the U.S., before transitioning to an international focus on development and migration, where she worked in Ethiopia, Chad, Malawi, and now Belgium.

Mary Emily has an academic background in Accounting, with a masters in International Development & Migration.

Irina Patrascu

Finance Officer

Irina joined ICMC Europe in May 2021 and supports the organisation through all financial and administrative aspects including day to day accountancy and financial reporting.

She previously worked as Finance Manager for similar international organisations in Belgium.

Irina has an academic background in Finance, and more than 15 years working experience in finance filed.

Gabriela Agatiello

Senior Policy and Project Officer

Gabriela Agatiello joined ICMC Europe in 2021 and leads the organisation’s work on refugee sponsorship.  She previously worked on EU policy and advocacy related to social inclusion, migrants’ integration, and labour rights for Eurodiaconia and PICUM.  Before moving to Europe she worked in the migrant and refugee settlement sector in Canada and in research and community development in Latin America.

Gabriela holds a master’s degree in political science and social work and a post-graduate diploma in migration management.

Andrea Soler Eslava

Senior Policy and Project Officer

Andrea joined ICMC Europe in 2021 and leads the organisation’s work  on refugee and migrant rural integration.  

She previously worked in the field of migrant and refugee reception and (re)integration in Côte d’Ivoire, France, Greece and Bosnia-Herzegovina within IOM and several NGOs. She also worked on strengthening local and national migration management capacities in Côte d’Ivoire. Prior to this, she worked as a consultant on business, corporate social responsibility and human rights issues in France.  

Andrea has an academic background in Political Science, with a Master’s Degree in International Migration and Public Policies from the London School of Economics.

Marika Carlucci

Junior Project Officer

Marika joined ICMC Europe in 2020 to provide support to SHARE projects, mainly with regards to communication and knowledge sharing.

She previously worked on issues relating to integrated border management and migrant and refugee inclusion policies at the EU level in Spain and Belgium.

Marika has an academic background in political and social sciences, with a focus on migration and the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Rachel Westerby


Rachel is an independent researcher, writer, editor and grantwriter in the field of refugees, migration and integration. She has authored research and policy publications for a wide range of international and civil society organisations, including UNHCR, Caritas, ECRE and ICMPD, and provides strategic fundraising and communications inputs for civil society actors and networks working on protection and integration. 

She was an ICMC staff member from 2011-15, working with colleagues to establish and grow the SHARE Network. Prior to joining ICMC, she worked in the local government and NGO sectors in the UK. 

Rachel has an academic background in history and philosophy, and holds a postgraduate diploma in Refugee Studies from the University of East London.

Rose Vreugdenhil


Rose Vreugdenhil joined ICMC Europe in 2021 and supports the SHARE projects which focus on community sponsorship and the integration of refugees and migrants in rural areas across Europe.


She previously worked with ICDI’s project on Roma community integration and improving access to resources for vulnerable migrant groups, especially women, in Slovakia.


Rose has an academic background in international development and cultural geography with a focus on rights-based approaches, social theory and gender equality.
