Since 2017, community sponsorship programmes have emerged in Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy and Spain (Basque Country).
As part of the SHARE Quality Sponsorship Network (QSN), the SHARE Network will be hosting a transnational roundtable on refugee sponsorship monitoring and evaluation. The roundtable will gather researchers, policy makers and practitioners to take stock of the lessons learned from EU countries’ first experiences with community-based sponsorship programmes, and look at best practice in evaluation and how evaluation can improve sponsorship programmes. Results from the discussion will feed into an upcoming policy-brief produced by ICMC Europe.
The roundtable will be centred around two main themes.
The first will look at different pilot programme experiences and initial lessons learned with regard to programme design in the Basque Country, Ireland, and Germany.
The second theme will look at the impact of sponsorship on local communities and early refugee integration on the basis of qualitative research of programmes in France, Italy and the United Kingdom.
Participation in the roundtable will be by invitation only.
